"Coureuse"

1457 Brass nails

Coureuse Kind of "coupé de ville" in use in the 18th particularly suitable for business races.

This half scale sculpture is inspired by the iconic Alfa Romeo Tipo 159 from 1951 with which Juan Manuel Fangio won his first formula 1 world  championship title the same year.

Tribute to this successful racing car produced by the Italian manufacturer and launched the first time in 1938 with the first version : the 158; with an engine designed by Gioacchino Colombo.

Size :  L 191cm / W 70cm / H 50cm

The body work is made of ash and the nails are of brass. The cockpit is covered with a rosewood and a zebrano veener.

 

The wheels and tires are made of lime wood. The steering wheel is made of ash and aluminium. The exhaust pipe is made of steel.
